As an experienced architectural practice, we offer Design & contract management services for all the necessary stages of the design process, on projects varying from simple home extensions to multi million pound developments in both residential and commercial sectors. We take pride in assisting our clients with a range of architectural services as set out below, whether it be individual stages as necessary or the whole design package from start to finish, here at Elder Lester we are happy to help!
Feasibility / Concept Design
In order to establish a design brief for any project we ensure that we understand what your desired outcome is! Meeting up to discuss the must have requirements along with the desirable features allows us to begin to paint a picture of the upcoming project. At the earliest convenience we will investigate and survey the site along with any information available that would need to be considered during the design process. Once we are happy we have established the design parameters the team would begin working up concept designs, relaying ideas and progress back to the client at various stages ensuring all parties are happy with the direction of the design.
Planning
Following production of the initial concept designs, we develop these into full design drawings ready for submission to the local authority for planning approval. This stage would include preparation of all necessary drawings for such applications, including site plans and if necessary, 3D digital models and Computer generated images (CGI). We handle the application submission along with all correspondence during the applications whilst keeping the client informed of any updates throughout.
Construction Drawings
In order to get any project out of the ground, detailed construction drawings are required to ensure an approved design can be brought to life, whilst meeting all current regulations & requirements! Our experienced technical staff can produce detailed drawings for projects of all kinds, ranging from simple home extensions to multistorey commercial/Residential developments. These drawings provide the basis of all other consultants involved on the project, depending on its scale and complexity.
Project management & contract administration
At Elder Lester we take pride in seeing a project develop from a clients initial idea right through to completion and hand over of the finished product. Although not required on all projects, Elder Lester can provide project management and Contract administration services to ensure that the project is handled by a passionate, experienced professional who will be on hand throughout the construction of the project for any advice and assistance required, handling relevant matters to ensure the process is completed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

Although not required for the majority of planning submissions, CGI’s can provide clients with a much more understandable image than 2D drawings maybe do, allowing them to visualise the finished product in various settings and highlight any potential design features they may wish to alter. These images are created for a whole range of projects, whether it be an extension to an existing property where a client wishes to better understand its relationship with the existing property or a new build project generated to show how it integrates with the existing street-scene and surrounding buildings.
